Great book, but the other book of the same author is much better

This is a very high quality book, chock a block full of information about construction sites, with lots of imaginative flaps, things that swivel, move, and fold. HOWEVER...it is not as good as "The Ultimate Book of Vehicles" by the same author. The "Vehicles" book is more appropriate for kids 3 years and up: It is still full of awesome flaps, swivels, and things that move, but it is simpler, with pictures of the vehicle, the name of the vehicle, and maybe a few names of the parts of the vehicle. You open up a flap to see inside, make it move, etc. My son found it very interesting. The "Construction" is really aimed for older kids, I'm guessing 5 and up, maybe even older. There are just so many words on the page, and so much information. The flaps are not as interesting as the previous book, and I found many of the moving parts to be "sticky", and my 3 year old ripped quite a few out within a week of reading the book. We have not ripped anything from the "Vehicle" book. So I would say if you have an older kid who wants to gain a lot of knowledge about construction sites, this book is for you. But if you have a younger child (3 and up, any younger and they'd destroy the book), get the "Vehicle" book.

Five stars from a civil engineer and dad

I'm a civil engineer that builds subways for a living. This is the best children's book about construction that I have ever seen. My daughter loves the activity involved with reading this book. Each page is unique, with different combinations of flaps, pull tabs, and levers... and one page even has a twirling cutter head of an earth pressure balance tunnel boring machine. We both love this book!!!

Get the book!

My 2 year old is obsessed with trucks and anything to do with construction. This book is AWESOME. There is so much to look at, we read/talk about/look at 1 page each night. You can easily spend a half hour on one page playing with all the flaps and things that slide around on the pages. Although the book feels sturdy and high quality, I recommend supervising the little ones while reading...my 2 year old has already torn a little flap (he was trying to lift it the wrong way). Bottom line: We love it, its a great deal right now. Get it!!

Fascinating, detailed, and interactive!

Great book to learn about all things construction! Filled with details, flaps to open, flip, pull, fold, everything. For an older kid than I expected, maybe 5yrs old if really into construction. There is almost too much information on each page to really sit and get through with a younger child's attention span.

Need to be sure all moving parts are moving.

Book itself should l d be a 5, but had to tape crane up as.circular piece broken.. What would be page 4, 2nd design page 2 of, building cranes, the circular movement of (mast) boom drop tore upon 1st view. This is the 3rd ultimate book and other 2 without any problems, so it was Not caused by mis-use. The circle piece of the movement appeared to be glued down, when it should have had movement. Would appreciate product replacement, and return shipping with replacement. Thank You!

Construction Crazed Kid’s Favorite Book

My son’s 3rd birthday was construction themed. He’s obsessed with mighty machines and this book was a huge hit from the moment he unwrapped it. He sleeps with it, lugs it to grocery store, takes it to show & tell every week, and “reads” it to everyone. That said, the flaps and pop outs are delicate and I’ve had to use double sided tape on several areas.

Awesome book

My 6 year old grandson loves this book especially the pull down items on the pages. Very good quality book. I would get it again. You wouldn't want to get it for a much younger child because the pull down items could be torn if not careful.

Construction 🚧 heaven!

This is the best book I have ever read to my grandson. He lives it. I am ordering the related farm book as well. There is so much information within the text, flaps, levers and foldout sections as to entertain and inform their little minds for hours! They love anything related to construction 🏗 🚧 or the trucks and machines used. A more perfect book I couldn’t have written myself. Thank you for offering this.

Such a Neat and Thorough Book!

You know it's legit when two engineer dad's are impressed with how detailed and precise all the info is! My kiddo loved pouring over it. Note: there are LOTS of moving flaps and pieces, in case you have a book mutilator on your hands...

Worth the money!

Such an amazing book. So many moving parts and flaps! Shows different types of construction sites and explains what is happening next to each action. The book is extremely durably made, however children need to be advised to be gentle with the moving parts. Totally worth the money!
